How do we help with Dog Training?
Red Alert doesn't train dogs for people, which might sound confusing since I am puppy raising Lucy. I am puppy raising Lucy for another organization and credible trainer. Lucy's training is being supervised by a qualified expert. Red Alert is happy to help any training organization that is qualified. Red Alert hopes that by recruiting puppy raisers for trainers, helping pay the costs of training, purchasing qualified puppies, and by educating people about these dogs then we not only have helped trainers, but also the families that need these dogs.
How do we help families?
So far Red Alert has directly helped more than 20 families. For some we were able to purchase the puppy and pay for some training costs. For others we have helped with costs of vet bills, service vests, and food. Besides the practical help, we are happy to pass along resources such as information on trainers, service dog laws, and support if you have been discriminated against because of having a diabetic alert service dog. To date, Mark has educated more than 1 million people. His efforts have spread through 40 countries on 6 continents.
